Our favorite way to use a deck is one card a week. I did this with my parents for a year, one question a week on a call, and it felt like we made more progress in getting closer than potentially decades on our own. A dinner out for two can cost $60 to $90, once. A deck used weekly for a year is only $0.75 a week.

5. Made with love and care by a small family business

We have no outside investors, so we spend extra on what we care about: recyclable and reusable packaging, 1,200 GSM boxes, matte-laminated cards, Pantone colors, and organic pigments. My mom and dad pack every order by hand, and we regularly donate decks to nonprofits and community organizations.

6. They cost less the more you add

One deck is $39. Any four are $78 ($156 separately), or $19.50 each, so you can have these conversations with everyone in your life.

Teams of any size, managers running 1:1s, and anyone onboarding a new colleague. Written for ages 16 and up, so it works for interns and apprentices too.

Split a large team into groups of four to six so everyone gets a minute to speak.

Remote teams can play live on a call, or post one card a week in the team chat and answer in writing. Writing your answer works just as well as saying it.

It will feel forced if you skip the ground rules, which is why they’re on their own card.

Anyone can skip any card with no reason given, short answers are real answers, and nothing said in the game gets repeated later, in a review or anywhere else. With a manager playing, start at Level 1 and let the manager answer first.
